Join us for a night to remember at our inaugural ‘A Seat In The Cellar’ tasting. This event is a once in a lifetime opportunity to sample perfectly matured bottles with vintages spanning from 1956 to 2001 from the heralded appellations of Barolo and Barbaresco.
Through our connections in Italy we recently acquired a clutch of older-vintage Barolo and Barbaresco from a private cellar with excellent provenance and the bottles in outstanding condition. What better way to celebrate this than by opening some with like-minded oenophiles in the conviviality of our tasting room.
1956 Cavallotto Barolo 1956
1964 Burlotto Barbaresco 1964
1973 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Francia
1980 Aldo Conterno Barolo Bussia Colonnello
1999 Elio Altare Barolo
2001 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo Etichetta Disegnata
Spanning six decades, this is your opportunity to sample bottles which are both extremely rare and expensive in today’s market. We’ll be discussing the historical backgrounds of each vigneron and what has led them to become the revered entities they are today, however, this will hopefully be proven by what’s in the glass!
Wines of this age are truly a window into the past where you can muse not just on the remarkable liquid but also the historical happenings of the time, and this will also be part of our conversation.
We will also be offering attendees on the evening first opportunity to purchase other select bottles from the shipment which haven’t been offered yet.
We hope you can join us!
