This Pinot Noir was sourced from two separate vineyards in the Coal River Valley, Tasmania, both of which were fermented with native yeasts, one with 100% whole bunches and the other 20%. Fermented and matured in a tulip shaped concrete vessel and French oak puncheons.
This wine is truly delicious, beautiful fresh cherries, vanilla, sandalwood, a hint of caponata and a background of forest floor all unfold over a long complex finish, with silky tannins keeping everything on track.
Already known as a master of Pinot Noir, this release from Anna Pooley does nothing but cement her place at the top of the pantheon of Australian producers.
