Burgundy Masterclass – Henri & Giles Buisson

Brothers Franck & Frédérick Buisson are the latest generation of Buisson’s to farm the vineyards in and around the quaint village of St-Romain in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. Henri (Franck & Frédéric’s grandfather) began domaine bottling when St-Romain gained its appellation status in 1947 and his son Gilles grew the domaine from 5ha to14ha in the 1980’s. Today the brothers have almost 20ha in total and are both certifed organic and and biodynamic and have quickly forged a reputation as benchmarks for St-Romain and the satellite villages.

In short, this is one of the most exciting domaine’s in Burgundy, especially for white wine, where the wines still represent excellent value compared to many of their peers. This will be an extensive tasting covering several of the St-Romain cuvee’s along with some of the excellent reds, which also encapsulate the fastidious quality of the domaine.
