Château Thivin Beaujolais Villages ‘Vignes l’Ecussol’ 2018

Out of stock

  • A fresh, incredibly drinkable expression of Beaujolais for ultra-traditional Thivin
  • 2018 was a strong vintage for this producer
  • Thivin is a staple of France's best restaurants

The vines for this wine are situated on an east-facing slope of granitic sand soil. Fruit is hand-picked and then undergoes semi-carbonic maceration for optimum extraction before being transferred by gravity into vats to ensure gentle production.

Gary Walsh

“Gamay Noir from 50 year old vines in the village of Quincié-en-Beaujolais. Fun fun fun. Blackcurrant, cherry, mint, tea. A cool ‘mineral’ feel, juicy and fresh, gentle lick of tannin, more in to raspberry and spice to taste, good finish, fresh and a little bit slate-y. So enjoyable.” Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
