Château Thivin ‘Reverdon’ Brouilly 2018

Out of stock

  • 2018 was a great vintage for this historic estate
  • Château Thivin is a reference point for great Beaujolais
  • Reverdon offers something a little different from this traditional estate

Fruit from a 5.5ha of vines grown on an east-facing hillside of pink granite soil, which gives the wine its distinctive fruit elegance. The grapes are picked by hand before being vinified in whole bunches during which time they spend eight days on skins after which the wine is matured in cement vats for seven months.

Mike Bennie

“Here’s one you may not have seen from the rarified crew at Chateau Thivin. Stalwarts of traditional winemaking and Beaujolais, this feels decidedly something different. Bright and vivacious style. Pepper-laced red cherry and pomegranate juice. Crunchy and chalky tannins the textural features. Blisteringly fresh feel here. Good length, tight and tense, purity of fruit, lovely finish. Feels very modern here – super clean lines, upbeat thing. Feels very good drinking.” Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
