  • 'Mini' Châteauneuf-du-Pape
  • Great vintage
  • Amazing value!

Year in, year out Domaine Charvin’s ‘Le Poutet’ Cote-du-Rhone is one of the stand out wines of the appellation. Throw in the remarkable quality of one of the best vintages in the Southern Rhone in recent times, and you have a wine that competes with many domaine’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Charvin’s meticulous attention to detail is on full show here…delicious now and over the next 5 years.

Robert Parker Jr.

I always find Charvin’s wines closest to those of Chateau Rayas, although the Charvin wines are slightly more concentrated.

Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Brilliant ruby-red. A complex bouquet evokes fresh red berries, potpourri and smoky minerals, and an intriguing suggestion of blood orange emerges as the wine opens up. Juicy and precise, offering sweet raspberry and lavender pastille flavors underscored by a suggestion of peppery spices. The mineral quality comes back strong on the finish, which features silky tannins and impressive persistence. This bottling always outperforms its humble origins and that’s especially the case in this vintage. Drink 2017-2022.
