Notes
“They always had the vineyard however only bottled under their own Domaine in 2017. 0.9 hectares. Far more white clay than the other plots between the 1er Cru hills of Vaillon and Le Foret as Eleni describes to me “In between La Foret and Vaillon. Kimmeridgian with lots of of white clay. Hard to work *she laughed*” North West facing. Style – good mix, very mineral. 40 years old vines. Wild Fermented in steel then Elevage in barrel for 12 months of 6.” – Producer’s note
Critics Comment
Neal Martin
“The 2019 Chablis Boucheron, which had been in barrel since March, has a pretty nose of expressive yellow flowers mixed with honeysuckle and light
jasmine scents. The palate is lightly spiced on the entry, edgy and tensile, with a vibrant peppery finish. Good potential – lots of energy locked up in this
Chablis.” – 90-92 points – Neal Martin, Vinous
Jasper Morris
“Pale colour with a touch of sulphur. Excellent tension, some greener fruit here. A very long finish for a ‘village’ Chablis, lean pure and stylish. A great start to the range.” – 87-90 points – Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
