The Crus of Barolo by Sordo wines
Presented by importer David Ridge
Two nights only!
‘Giovanni Sordo is the only winery making eight separate Barolo cru wines. Not only is this unique, but the wines all show distinctive traits – because the winemaking is hands-off, allowing the terroir of each cru to express itself in the wine.’
– Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Join us for what will be a fascinating insight into some of the greatest vineyards in Barolo through the lens of one of its emerging stars – Giovanni Sordo. Presented by David Ridge – long term importer and authority of Piedmontese wines – this will be a unique opportunity to learn about some of the greatest crus in Barolo and taste the wines of this exciting vigneron.
Nebbiolo in Piedmont, just like Pinot Noir in Burgundy, has the inherent and unique ability to succinctly communicate the nuance of site and vagaries of the season far more than other grape varieties. Learn what sets these special vineyards apart and why they are so different from each other.
Also, this will also be a great opportunity to secure some of the region’s best value, most age-worthy but still under-the radar Barolo for your cellar.
