Pegasus Bay Sauvignon Semillon 2016

In stock

  • From the Waipara Valley in North Canterbury
  • 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Semillon
  • Both varieties aged separately on lees for 10 months prior to blending

“The colour is pale lemon with aromas of orange blossom, lime, gooseberry and passionfruit. There is also a hint of struck match complexity arising from skin contact during fermentation. The Semillon component helps fill out the palate, adding fruit weight, richness and age-ability, while also acting to restrain the exuberance of the sauvignon blanc. The lees contact adds further creaminess and body, however there is still a crisp refreshing minerality on the finish.” – Producer’s note

Bob Campbell

“Concentrated and quite funky wine, with weight and texture from contact with the yeast lees and partial barrel maturation and fermentation. Gutsy wine with struck flint, mineral, toast, roasted nut, citrus and lime zest flavours. A very individual wine with a character of its own.” Bob Campbell MW
