Notes
The 2018 Riesling is a blend made from two mature vineyards in the Coal River Valley (50%) and the Huon Valley (50%) harvested at the middle and end of March respectively. The hand-picked fruit was lightly crushed before gentle pressing to tank, with pressings included for structure and flavour. Once fermented a period of maturation on the yeast lees allowed the wines to further develop texture. The blending together the powerful Coal River Valley fruit with the finesse and delicacy of the Huon Valley has created a wine with intensity and finesse.
Critics Comment
James Halliday
“A 50/50% blend from the Coal River Valley and Huon Valley, the hand-picked grapes lightly crushed before pressing. The juice was fermented by three completely different yeast strains designed to show the power of the Coal River Valley and the finesse and delicacy of the Huon Vally. Gold medal Tasmanian Wine Show ’19.” – Halliday Wine Companion
