Jauma Wines Masterclass
“Without doubt, James has always stood on the front line of the natural wine movement in this country and helped forge a path that so many dynamic makers and growers have since followed.” – Imbibo
James Erskine, the driving force behind Jauma, boasts an impressive array of accomplishments in the wine industry. Despite securing prestigious titles such as the Gourmet Wine Traveller Sommelier of the Year, dux of the Court of Master Sommelier exams, and being a Len Evans Scholar, Erskine’s passion for winemaking ultimately prevailed. Following his studies in Agriculture Science at Adelaide and at the renowned UC Davis, Erskine established Jauma in 2010, at the dawn of the natural wine movement’s evolution in Australia.
100% McLaren Vale, 100% natural, and 100% organic, Jauma’s wines eschew any sulphur, additives, fining agents or filtration. These are the epitome of earth-to-glass wines: clean, pure and incredibly expressive of site.
James is set to visit us in Sydney to unveil the latest release of his 2023 wines, accompanied by some aged bottles which will offer a unique opportunity to witness the aging potential of these profoundly ‘natural’ wines.
We invite you to join us for what should be an enthralling evening, where one of the pioneers of Australian Natural Wine will share insights into the challenges and triumphs of adopting a minimalist approach to winemaking.
