Clos de la Bonnette Vieilles Vignes Syrah Collines Rhodaniennes 2021

Domaine Clos de la Bonnette was founded in 1992 by husband and wife team, Isabelle Guiller and Henri Montabonnet when they purchased an abandoned vineyard site on the steep slopes of Condrieu.

The vineyards were in complete disarray, many of the retaining walls had collapsed and the site had been abandoned for many years. They set about restoring the property, by hand, as labour of love, not a commercial venture and today it comprises severla plots of viognier of such good quality that Marcle Guigal wished to purchase them under contract – they politely declined! This plot of syrah is located on the heights of Ampuis, bordering te Cote -Rotie PDO near the plateau and consists of vines over 40 years of age. This is a highly aromatic, virile wine only medium bodied but has wonderful depth of flavour and complexity. Pure, engaging Syrah.
