Brothers Matthew and Jonathan Hughes craft small-batch wines in southern Tasmania with a philosophy of minimal intervention and site expression. Their Syrah comes from cool-climate vineyards that deliver fragrance and finesse rather than weight. In short this is a great argument for the suitability of Syrah to some areas of Tasmania. The 2024 vintage was fermented with a touch of whole bunch, then aged in older oak, adding perfume and subtle savoury complexity. Bright ruby in colour, it shows red and black berries, cracked pepper and violets, with hints of spice and dried herbs. Medium-bodied, the palate is silky and fresh, with fine-grained tannins and a lively, peppery finish that speaks clearly of cool Tasmanian terroir.

There is no minimum order, you can order a single bottle or a mixed case.
Le Pont Wine Stores supports the responsible service of alcohol. Under Australian law, it is illegal for anyone under the age of eighteen to either order or receive alcohol. We dispatch orders Monday to Friday and, depending on your location, use the services of Fastway Couriers or Australia Post. For delivery to most Australian cities, please allow five working days and seven for rural and regional areas.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, we reserve the right to hold your order until such time as the weather is favourable to transport it. We will contact you by telephone to arrange an alternative delivery time.
We offer free delivery for all orders over $250.
For orders under $250, delivery charges will apply for each singular carton, (ie; 18 bottles will equal 2 cartons – 1 carton of 6 and another of 12). This charge (if applicable) will be applied at the time of checkout.
“I’ve ordered the wrong item”
If you have ordered the wrong item, please contact us to arrange a return. Return shipping for ordering the incorrect item will be at the expense of the customer. Le Pont Wine Stores will issue a full refund for the goods within 30 days.
“I’ve received the incorrect item”
If your order has been packed incorrectly by Le Pont Wine Stores and you receive the incorrect product in your shipment, please notify Le Pont Wine Stores strictly within 48 hours of receipt of the shipment. Le Pont Wine Stores will request that you return the incorrect items in the original carton. On receipt of the intact returned goods, and within 30 days, Le Pont Wine Stores will refund to you the amount for the incorrect item/s, plus the return shipping costs.
