Graham Talbot

Graham grew up locally and, after a 20-year career in the finance industry, decided to pursue his true calling – wine. His interest evolved into a deep passion during an eight-year stint in London, where he was fortunate to live above one of the city’s most innovative wine stores, tasting extraordinary bottles from across the globe. He began his WSET studies in London and went on to complete his WSET Diploma (with Merit) in Sydney in 2020. Graham joined Le Pont in 2021 and became the store’s manager and principal wine buyer the following year.

Matt Ivory

Growing up in Perth, Western Australia Matt first discovered his love of wine in the famous Margaret River region. With some cellar-rat work and a couple of vintages under his belt, Matt embarked on a deep dive into the world of independent wine retail in the Emerald City of Sydney. Decades later he is still honing his knowledge and love of the world wide wine industry and all its tasty rewards. Joining the Le Pont team in 2024 Matt looks after the ranging of artisanal spirits and beer not to mention product knowledge presentation and event coordination. Matt likes the ocean, walking up hills and is forever in search for the perfect martini!

James Taylor

Originally from Surrey, England, James developed a passion for wine through years spent in hospitality, working across bars and gastropubs with a strong focus on quality food and wine. In 2023, he relocated to Australia drawn by the country’s dynamic wine culture and lifestyle. Since joining Le Pont, James has immersed himself in the store’s diverse range, connecting with passionate winemakers and customers through tastings, masterclasses, and industry events. His enthusiasm for learning and growing within the wine world brings fresh energy to the Le Pont team.

Richard Barlow

Originally from the UK, Rich has called Australia home for more than 18 years. His professional background is in digital agencies and start-ups, but his enduring passion has always been wine. With a love for geography and travel, he’s long been fascinated by how place, history, and storytelling shape every bottle. Rich has been a part of the team since 2023 and has continued his wine journey while studying for the WSET Diploma in Wine. He says, “Working alongside such a knowledgeable and dedicated team in one of Sydney’s most diverse and dynamic wine stores has deepened my appreciation for the global world of wine and the people who bring it to life.”

Rob McGregor

‘In some ways the wine industry found me’, says Rob. While not feeling overly fulfilled studying town planning at university, he had a proverbial lightbulb moment and decided to apply for a position at an established retailer in Sydney’s CBD. ‘It was my first wine job and I was there for 18 years. That was a long and very formative experience, so much of my journey with Le Pont has been about whether a great retail store and brand could still be created from scratch. I hope we have created stores that people really enjoy being in and learning from’. When not overseeing the stores he is constantly trying to learn about new wines and things he hasn’t tasted yet, preferably at the table with family and friends.
