Few estates evoke Bordeaux’s grandeur quite like Château Margaux, a First Growth named after its appellation and famed for its elegance and aromatic lift. Its vineyards rest on deep gravel ridges that are particularly suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, which forms the backbone of the blend. The 1996 vintage is considered one of the château’s most outstanding modern releases. Now nearly three decades on, it still shows remarkable vitality: aromas of cassis, blackberry and violet mingle with graphite, cedar, tobacco and a hint of leather. The palate is full-bodied yet exquisitely refined, with layered fruit, silky tannins and extraordinary length. This wine will continue to evolve gracefully for decades, making it both a collector’s treasure and an unforgettable experience when served. Recommended to decant gently for 3–4 hours before enjoying.

There is no minimum order, you can order a single bottle or a mixed case.
Le Pont Wine Stores supports the responsible service of alcohol. Under Australian law, it is illegal for anyone under the age of eighteen to either order or receive alcohol. We dispatch orders Monday to Friday and, depending on your location, use the services of Fastway Couriers or Australia Post. For delivery to most Australian cities, please allow five working days and seven for rural and regional areas.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, we reserve the right to hold your order until such time as the weather is favourable to transport it. We will contact you by telephone to arrange an alternative delivery time.
We offer free delivery for all orders over $250.
For orders under $250, delivery charges will apply for each singular carton, (ie; 18 bottles will equal 2 cartons – 1 carton of 6 and another of 12). This charge (if applicable) will be applied at the time of checkout.
“I’ve ordered the wrong item”
If you have ordered the wrong item, please contact us to arrange a return. Return shipping for ordering the incorrect item will be at the expense of the customer. Le Pont Wine Stores will issue a full refund for the goods within 30 days.
“I’ve received the incorrect item”
If your order has been packed incorrectly by Le Pont Wine Stores and you receive the incorrect product in your shipment, please notify Le Pont Wine Stores strictly within 48 hours of receipt of the shipment. Le Pont Wine Stores will request that you return the incorrect items in the original carton. On receipt of the intact returned goods, and within 30 days, Le Pont Wine Stores will refund to you the amount for the incorrect item/s, plus the return shipping costs.
