Burgundy Masterclass – South Melbourne

We’re putting the spotlight on Burgundy. Daniel Airoldi from Importer As You Wish Wines will be shining a light on a couple of producers at the top of their game and whose wines can still be enjoyed at excellent prices. Join us as we delve in to all things Red and White from the famed region of Burgundy.

Experience this night via two very exciting smaller producers Jean-Marc Boillot, grandson of the imitable Etienne Sauzet (former winemaker for Olivier Leflaive) who has been active since the mid-80s and is one of those rare winemakers who excels when it comes to both red and white varieties. Then there’s Domaine Henri Rebourseau which dates back to the late 1700s when Jacques and his son Claude Rebourseau made a name for themselves as men of the soil, hardworking winemakers in Gevrey-Chambertin. Their legacy lives on as today the Domaine has holdings all throughout the region, and includes numerous enviable plots in iconic Grand Cru vineyards.

If you’re new to Burgundy, this will open your eyes to the region at large and showcase why exactly wine lovers are so enamoured with its wines. If you’re already well-versed, come along and be exposed to two fantastic lesser known producers and be treated to a diverse selection of cuvees, with a focus on 2022 whites and 2021 reds, plus a couple of 2018s.

Oh and, because you deserve it, we’ll be welcoming you with a glass of Champagne from the remarkable Andre Robert from Le Mesnil!
