Santenots du Milieu is one of the most unique Premier Cru sites in Volnay, located on Meursault soils yet planted to Pinot Noir. Yes, one of those Burgundian quirks where a vineyard located in the predominantly white village next door takes the name of the exclusively red village!
The 2009 vintage is an excellent - and long term - one. The wines just beginning to come out of their shells, and are marked by generosity, structured tannins and depth of flavour. Aromatically, the wine opens with dark cherry, plum, rose petal and subtle spice. With time in bottle, tertiary notes of forest floor, leather and dried herbs begin to emerge. The palate is broad and enveloping, with fine but present tannins and a velvety, persistent finish.
This is a powerful, age-worthy Volnay Santenots de Milieu from Lafon and is always a joy to drink.

We dispatch orders Monday to Friday and, depending on your location, use the services of Fastway Couriers or Australia Post. For delivery to most Australian cities, please allow five working days and seven for rural and regional areas.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, we reserve the right to hold your order until such time as the weather is favourable to transport it. We will contact you by telephone to arrange an alternative delivery time.
We offer free standard shipping on all orders over $250. For orders under $250, shipping costs are calculated based on your location: a flat rate of $15 applies to deliveries within New South Wales, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory, while a flat rate of $25 applies to Queensland, Tasmania, Western Australia and South Australia. Shipping fees will be displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase.
“I’ve ordered the wrong item”
If you have ordered the wrong item, please contact us to arrange a return. Return shipping for ordering the incorrect item will be at the expense of the customer. Le Pont Wine Stores will issue a full refund for the goods within 30 days.
“I’ve received the incorrect item”
If your order has been packed incorrectly by Le Pont Wine Stores and you receive the incorrect product in your shipment, please notify Le Pont Wine Stores strictly within 48 hours of receipt of the shipment. Le Pont Wine Stores will request that you return the incorrect items in the original carton. On receipt of the intact returned goods, and within 30 days, Le Pont Wine Stores will refund to you the amount for the incorrect item/s, plus the return shipping costs.
