Chablis is celebrated for its purity, freshness and sense of place, but time reveals another side entirely. To better understand this we will be examining a range of differing vintages from an icon of the region: Le Domaine d'Henri. The domain was founded by Chablis legend Michel Laroche and his daughter Margaux in 2012 after Michel had spent 45 years at the helm of his family winery Domaine Laroche. The wines are made from a number of reclaimed family vineyards that traverse the appelattions of Petit Chablis, Chablis and Premier Cru Fourchaume, an escarpment of Kimmeridgian bedrock that flows north from the Grand Cru sites located just a kilometre or so to the south.
Join the Le Pont Team for this special masterclass, we’ll go through several brackets of their various Fourchaume expressions, each bracket focusing on the same wine at different stages of its life, giving you an understanding of how Chablis’ signature acidity and mineral character provide the structure for graceful ageing.
